Hi Gerrit,
It must be very exciting for a kid who doesn't normally experiment snow to see such a white blanket covering everything. Even in Canada, where snow is business as usual, the first snowflakes of the season always have a magic effect on everyone...
Nice scene presenting a good sample of typical Amsterdam icons, but not under typical conditions. I like the blueish cast that emphasize the perception of cold.
Have a great weekend!

Salut Denis,
Excellent!

Hi Deniz,
The power of black and white... From indifferent to forbidding, I have learned to appreciate it under circumspect conditions.
Here, it seems to be a welcomed choice, unless I am just impress by the quality of the conversion, with bold blacks, punctuation of white areas and a nice array of greys. The strong presence of Arabic script brings a graphic content that please me a lot and I also like the tie-in they create with the praying man.
Cheers!

Amicaalement,
Aandré

Hi Way!
Thumbs up for these graceful colours, so subtle and unique in their own way.
I think that Switzerland, Canada, New Zealand and Iceland put together can't rival with these beyond belief mountains... Each images I have seen of them always leave me breathless. Yours make no exception, and the fluffy clouds fooling around bring another level of interest with the warm light knocking them sideway.
I have to go along with Didier by mentioning that the foreground takes too much place in your composition, in proportion with the real attention getter that should be the mountains. The trees are also blocking the view and don't bring much by their brash presence, almost like barbed wires for the eyes.
But I'm sure you'll have stronger ones in your collection. You're a talented photographer.
Cheers!

Boboulot!

Hi Wolfgang,
A textbook shot to illustrate the power of perspective and the impact you can create when managed so wisely.
Because you were dealing with a straight path, I like the fact that you have chosen not to go for a centred composition, as I think it's stronger the way you did it. The different layers of trees, the fog, the couple, everything is coming together to forge a strong and appealing composition.
Cheers!

Hi Dagmar!
What a lovely scene!... If you were a man, I would tell you "awesome stuff!", because that's how I felt when I opened your photo, but I have to be more gentile with woman... :-P) "Lovely" sounds more feminine... but it's just great stuff!!!
I like the tones, the framing, the moment. Impeccable light management.
Cheers!

Salut cher Toni!
Amicalement,
André

Hi Linda,
Wonderful gradient in that winter sky, gracefully blending from warm to cold colour.
I like your framing and the way you've placed that silhouetted tree. Low horizon close the deal brilliantly.
Well done!
André
