Great macjake 2018-10-11 16:54

Hi Paul
i knew this would be an interesting post, and turns out it is just that. The WS photos are helpful too. Did you have to have the Taxi driver wait for you to take you back? I would easily have chosen the salt pans over the beach :) beaches are everywhere. very cool daily life photo of the real local people applying their trade. wonderful subject, wonderful shot. cheers
Craig

Default To macjake: Salinas Grandes

Thank you Craig,

It was a trip from 9 or 10 am till around 4 pm. That was agreed in advance with the taxi driver.
He went with me to the salt pans and to the fishing village.

I also do not think that a taxi could be found in Salinas Grandes to return to León.

The beach was kilometers long and also very wide. Completely abandoned with a fishing boat here and there.
Not too attractive with the gray volcanic sand. I took pictures on the beach but don't think I will show them here.
For attractive beaches you must go to the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua, to the Corn Islands ... but that's quite far from the interesting places in the west of the country.

Best wishes,
Paul
