Talking To macjake: Nativity Shop

Hi Craig

How's things? Thanks for the nice critique. To answer your question, this street is very famous and is called San Gregorio Armeno. I've posted a photo of the street itself before, here:

Every shop in the street makes and sells presepi - nativity scenes - and other Christmas decorations. It's a craft that has been handed down for several hundreds of years. I have a cousin whose trade is presepi-making, and some of his works have been exhibited, photographed and are on post cards. It's a trade that was dying out but is now experiencing a revival.

Walking along this little street is fantastic at any time, but seeing the street at night all lit up, especially at Christmas time, is something else.

Thanks for asking, have a great day
