Great holmertz 2020-03-01 11:54

Hello György,
I guess the fine old church should be the centre of attention, but it receives tough competition from the colours of the entire photo. The red flowers dominate the foreground, but behind them there is an almost unbroken line of green, including the tree rising above the church. Contrasting with the green are the red/brown tones of the roofs, walls and the nearest ground. I almost forget to look at the church because of these colours, but it is compensated for my neglect in the WS. It's really a very fine church, but so grey compared to its surroundings.
Thanks for commenting my ice cream photo. Yes, I know it's very simple. I never had in mind to post it, until I found it again last week and thought: Why not? There are so many boring photos on TE anyway.
Have a nice week.
Gert

Default To holmertz: re-

Dear Gert,

Poor little church, attention is stolen by the house and the vivid flowers! That's why I like BW photos at the first place: its all about the composition, the shapes and of course the light contrast. No disturbance by the colours! On the other hand, this photo would have look very flat in BW.

Thank you very much for your kind words!
Best Wishes,
Gy

PS: I have never said its boring! Just nothing special. If some one should know the difference is you! ;-)

What I meant was that because there are so many boring photos, this one would stand out as a most brilliant nothing special.
