Hi Jorge,
I suppose this is the actual centre of this place. Not the basilica but this little statue.
Interesting that it became that famous. In my hometown in Poland there is a church dedicated to Virgn Mary of Fatima. There is the same statue in the church. I showed the church on TrekEarth HERE but I didn't photograph the statue. And so many people come praying there (my home town). Most of them never been to Portugal. I was coming there as a child as well. And so it was a great satisfaction for me to visit the real Fatima in person.

curiously Our Lady of Fátima is my baptism godmother. When I was baptized my mother decided our lady would be the godmother and my uncle my godfather, a friend of my mother took me to the altar, but she knew I was consecrated to Mary. In that time this was permitted,* nowadays, not. take care jorge
