The quality of the image perhaps leaves a lot to be desired and you have also titled the horizon which doesn't help the image BUT the observation is excellent - the echo of these two figures in the rocky islands is just wonderful - nicely seen but just a little more work needed on the execution.

best wishes Kev

Default To KevRyan: changes

Hi! What do you suggest to change? I've added some noise to the image (it was 'clean' before) and may be it's this that you dont like - is it? Can you also write something more about horizon?
Thanks for your very useful comment!

hi

well I can live with noise - I have always quite liked noisy images - it's just that the islands have become disembodied areas of noise because the sea has completely disappeared between the people and the island - this lack of detail lets the image down a little too much I feel. My own preference but I would tend to use a darker sepia tone in most circumstances - with the missing sea detail and the light sepia the whole looks a little too washed out . The horizon line looks to be tilted from upper left to lower right - it's generally a good idea to keep the horizon straight on images like this unless you are going for a particular creative effect in composition - here it just looks as if you need a little more compositional discipline - I'm sure we've all done this when something else excites us more in the frame...and it was such a wonderful opportunity.....hope this helps explain my critique a little more ....if not feel free to continue this discussion.

best wishes Kev

aaaah! I had a suspicion - the horizon is pretty perfect - it's actually an optical effect because of the bulk of the island being to the left that gives - to my eye - a sense of it sloping - I would still look at playing with this to 'correct' it even if by measurement it might then be wrong...but full marks for being more disciplined than realised!! :-))
