Offering the original photo proved too much of a temptation to resist, so you'll have another workshop to add to your collection... ;-)

I like what you've done with this darkened image, though the glow around the Mont is a bit of a distraction. There are ways to work with that, but they are a bit labor intensive. For the version I did, I stayed closer to the palette of the original image. See what you think Stephen. I hope you share more images from your archives. As winter comes on the opportunities for capturing new images diminishes, especially where we have sodden skies.

Thanks for the workshop :)

Your workshop indeed gets closer to the original conditions and when I have the time I will try to apply your methods to the original JPEG - PS sorry for late reply :)
