Great tyro 2012-04-19 14:31

Hello Martin,

Firstly, congratulations on reaching 200!

A beautiful picture in which I can see Gloucester and also "Sharpness" aplenty!

This really is a stunning "blue hour" or, rather, "indigo hour" shot with amazing light and absolutely stunning sharpness - your tripod has certainly done the trick here! (I hope you remembered to switch off the IS.)

Perfect composition, the masts and rigging of the boat perfectly balancing the old warehouse; perfect exposure, the foreground subjects standing out against a deliciously dark yet interesting sky; exquisite detail and beautiful colours. The reflections on the still water are stunning.

This must be one of your very best and, as such, I hope you don't mind if I add it to my favourites?

Kind Regards,

Default To tyro: getting better !

Thanks indeed for your kind words. And all done without a hire lens in sight !

I am flattered indeed that you find it enough to heap such praise, and that it may take a place amongst the hallowed hundred !

Watch this space - I have a few more I am esp pleased with, though when I will 'get 'em up' I just dont know ..

kind regards
