Great EstudioChispa 2013-08-01 12:42

FANTASTIC management of the light, sir. Great T-shaped composition and great color composition, too.

I often feel envious, "I wish I had taken that foto!" -- and this shot brings that feeling! Then I look at where it was shot -- and I don't wish so much to be THERE!

Best regards,

Austin, Texas

Default To EstudioChispa: Fascinating Place

Hi Russ,

Actually that was my first impression about Death Valley. However, it is really a fascinating place. You can go to my travelogue to see my short description. There are many things to see and do. Especially photography wise.

Off course you don't want to be here in the summer. Late fall, winter and early spring is best. In the spring time, in good year with lots of rain, bring wonderful wild flower in the basin. You can see the wildflower forecase for each spring.

Thanks for your comments.

Your advice seems good -- avoid the summer! We actually love deserts -- you may see that we travel often in Baja California, Mexico, much of which is brutal, barren desert! We have driven the length of the peninsula three times!

Best regards,
