Great willperrett 2019-04-20 12:00

Hello John

I have to admit it: it was your title that initially attracted my attention, and then the bizarre and extraordinary tale of Maggie that kept my interest. And you admit that the photograph is a Gert "nothing special". Which makes it right up my street - especially as it features two pubs, including the Smallest Pub in Scotland (apparently a Mission Hall originally)! Got to visit...

Kind regards

Will

Default To willperrett: Another pub in the workshop!

Hi Will,

Thank you for your kind words!

Yes, there are two pubs in this picture - and there's also another one in the workshop but I'm not sure if you saw that.

In fact, the Grassmarket has lots and lots of pubs, as also does the High Street (Royal Mile). I previously (about four years ago, I think) posted a picture of Deacon Brodie's Tavern there - and you kindly wrote a nice critique about that one too: it also has an interesting story attached to it.

You definitely wouldn't go thirsty in this old part of Edinburgh!

Very Best Wishes,

John.
