Photographer's Note

This was taken at the entrance to the Khutse Game Reserve. I guess that the game rangers find many carcasses of animals that were eaten by predators in the reserve, and then take it back to the main camp to keep the horns.

Here they displayed the horns in the sun, to dry them out.

The light conditions were really bad, because it was right in the middle of an exteremly hot and sunny day, and the only way I could "save" this photo was to convert it to black and white and play around with the brightness and contrast.

The horns are, from left to right, a Kudu, an Oryx and an Eland, all very big animals.
