Photographers Note
Back in April I posted a first, unedited, version of this photo. Since getting home and looking at it again I realised that colour was flat and didn't reflect the time of day that it was taken - late afternoon. My other photos taken at about the same time had greater depth of colour with the shadows and lines of the sand dunes showing much more clearly.
So.... I've done a little work to get the photo how it should have been.... and showing the amazing line of seemingly unattended camels in the desert. All this just a short walk into the "erg".
Please enjoy.

Dear Ian
Obviously you photoshop was worth the effort, you created a pictures that looks natural and has a lot of dynamism. Congrats. These camels really are essential to make the sand dunes stand out of it. Not to forget the great contrast of the reddish sand and the blue sky. Sharpness and DOF are just perfect. Well done
Best regards

Hello Ian,
That's really nice view of the desert. Camels in the distances help to realize enormous size of the dunes.
I think this photo could benefit from some small modifications. First of all I would crop out some of the sky to make vignetting less distracting. Also I think the photo was not sharpened enough after downsizing - edges of the dunes look slightly blurred. I have tried to do some changes in the workshop version.

Hi Ian,
It's a very attractive scene, you have captured it beautifully with an amazing lighting at the late afternoon, It seems the colour looks more beautiful when cropping the sky of the image. Rendition of the texture of the sand dune is really splendid.

Hi Ian,
impressive shot of the ever stimulating desert environment. It reminds me a very pleasant trip in the Red Sea Hills (no points, just look at it if you like).
Your postprocessing has given to the picture a kind of "fashion glow": strange but effective. Dario.

Hi Ian,
You have captured the wonderful curving shapes of the dunes, as well as their rich warm colours. The camels are a great addition to the shot, sitting in middle of the landscape, and giving some scale to the photo.

Hello Ian
Absolutely brilliant photo with the camels standing in line on the crest of the sand dune. The colouring, sharpness and pov are perfect. A favourite. Tfs, Marlene
