Arches with Lamp, a photo from Marrakech, South

As I was walking past the entry to one of the main mosques in the old city of Marrakesh, I spotted this entry of repeating arches. There is a man leaning against the wall towards the back right. The golden fg lamp completed the scene. The bit top right that looks like vignetting is yet another fg arch.

You couldn't have had a better spot for capturing the repeating arches, the diminishing lamps and the converging lines, all helping to create a wonderful sense of perspective.
The details and the colours are particularly good for an interior shot.

I'm glad you explained the seated figure. I could not decide what it was!

Beautiful arches for challenging photography with lovely light, wonderful detail and vivid colours. Best of all is receding lines leads the eye to the whole depth and that fig adds human interest as essential focal point. Good eye !! Congrats

Hello Chris,
The architecture provided natural depth, but the man leaning against the wall added an important feature that made this a photo somewhat out of the ordinary. The well managed light is another obvious asset.

This is a very pleasant picture with the long carpet in the corridor.
Also the arches and lamps make your picture attractive.

I like the image in it's presentation. It is superb. Shame so much conflict has erased much of the craftsmanship in the Arab world. Seems Morocco has seen a great bit of stability. Beautiful image. The man makes the image come alive. well done.

Wow, what a fantastic perspective down this long corridor with the many repeating arches, I really like the play of light around them, as well as the contrast with the dark end of the corridor. The golden lamp is very well included in the foreground too.

a great composition here, you've played cleverly with the repetition of these arches and lamps, and the deep perspective of them in the corridor of the mosque.
The graphical effect is beautiful, and the red color of the carpet adds a good chromatic contrast in the ensemble.

The different chandeliers is "breaking the pattern" of the repeating multi-arches in juxtaposition.

Foto excelente, ela possui uma profundidade interessante, ocasionada pelos arcos e pelos objetos suspensos sequenciais. A nitidez também é boa, assim como as cores e o enquadramento. Aquela pessoa sentada foi uma boa adiçăo para a composiçăo.
