Photographer's Note

On the eastern side of the High Atlas Mountains are a series of rivers that have cut eastern flowing gorges. The rivers dry up as they flow towards the Saharah Desert.
On the way up to the gorge at Dades we came across the remains of an old kasbah or maybe a ksar (fortified village) at the head of a valley. The Kasbah was built, as is usual, above the arable land.
What was also interesting was the unusual eroded and lumpy hillside behind the kasbah.

Best in the large view.
