Kerala - Munnar - TEA

A very short title this time. But that’s what you see: tea.

Or at least the tea bushes with the leaves that are regularly picked by cheap workers (mostly women) so that we can enjoy the tasty drink.

Munnar is a small town and hill station located in the state of Kerala.
Situated at around 1.600 metres high in the Western Ghats mountain range the region was ideal to start tea plantations.

Today you can find tea fields anywhere on the rolling hills in the broad area of Munnar. Sometimes even on fairly steep slopes.
The hills around Munnar are a paradise for those who love photography.
If you wouldn’t like the compositions of my three pictures here, during the next days I will be able to show you several other compositions. :)
I just have to be careful not to show too much of the same subject.

A lot of tea is exported. But the majority is drunk in India itself.
Indians drink it with milk and much sugar … not quite the taste of Malgo. :)

Recently Chris wrote that Europeans seem to prefer the black Indian tea to the green Chinese tea.
I was not aware of that but I certainly recognize myself in it. I also liked the tea in China but I thought it sometimes had a pharmacy flavor.
In India I just loved the tea.
