Photographer's Note

A morning shot at Amber Fort where elephants gave tourists rides, I was enchanted watching these majestic animals as they slowly and meticulously walked single file driven by the 'mahouts' without a glance sideways. They were dignified animal and elegantly painted with forms of artistic decoration on their bodies and decked up with the traditional clothing.

Elephants since ancient times, have always been an essential part of the lifestyle of Rajasthani, a place where customs, tradition and love for the animals never fades away. They are groomed with great pomp and
ceremony for various purposes.
