Photographer's Note

This is a continuation of my previous photo. This is just a couple of hours after that sunny view. In essence, the advent of early showers in the himalayas brought clear mornings and ominous evenings. By about 12pm here, dark clouds had amassed near the peaks - and were rapidly creeping down to my ridge. Moreover, the frequent lightening strikes high in the mountains makes ridgewalking dangerous in inclement weather. The rocks in the foreground are some of the rocks I mentioned in my previous post.

Of course, the original photograph didn't look this scary; however I felt that the odd copper-and-white processing brought out the real ehsaas one feels when confronted with such dramatic scenery. This is a 4000m ridge, looking north-west across an important pass in the foreground. In the background are massive glaciers that feed into U-shaped valleys and rivers that flow through them.

Post-processing in LR. Let me know if anyone wants the preset - I can email it.
