You will often see caravans of Yaks/Naks transporting goods in the upper parts of the access route to Everest. When the weather permits, horses are used, as they seem to be more easily controled. [and although not so 'typical' for tourists like me, horses are also less 'dangerous' when you meet them on a narrow path...
