Photographer's Note

So, well, it happened in year 1106. At least, you have to beleive in this, you see? In year 1106 guy from Rome, named Antonius, as chronicles saying, stood on a stone on a sea shore, and, as a miracle happened, this stone become floating, and standing on this stone in 3 days Antonius crossed the seas and sailed to Novgorod. Here he founded the monastery, where he lived and died in year 1147.
Church on the photo is Church of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin; built by Prince Vsevolod in year 1117 on a place where Antonius arrived on his floating stone... Stone is still inside of the church, in my humble opinion it's just a big piece of granite, I wonder, how it could float at all?
Some of the frescoes made in year 1125 are still on the walls of this church.
