Photographer's Note

Just approaching night on the beach of West Railay, part of a headland on the west coast of Thailand. Since the tsunami this part of the world has seen far fewer tourists- the people you see in this photo were almost the only ones on the 800m long beach, and there weren't many more in the daytime. Before boxing day the beach would have been filled up, and this downturn is having an obvious effect on the local people (it isn't very obvious, at least on Railay, that it was hit so badly. Most of it is almost back to normality, though you do see the occasional signs offering land for sale).
