Photographer's Note

Central Asia is considered to be the homeland of melon, which has been planted here for more than two thousand years. Farmers of Khorezm, Bukhara, Samarkand, Shakhrisabz, Tashkent and Ferghana oasis are well known among the Silk Road travelers for their agricultural skills. Today, I was told that there are more than 160 varieties of melons and each region of Uzbekistan has its own type of melons which are marketed all year round including winter.

Here's some fresh organically grown local produce, some to photograph during early morning sunshines and lots of them to eat taken at a roadside in Samarkand.
I was drawn to colours, layout and not to mention, the friendly Uzbeks
