Photographers Note
This is Mr.Winter living in a little village nearby May Pen. I had a little chat with him while asking directions.
I don't think it was the first time he told that joke but he intoduced himself as Mr. Winter, "I'm the only winter in Jamaica."

Hello Gerrit,
An interesting portrait of this chap stood in front of his house. There is a nice diagonal line from him towards the lady standing quizzically behind and then the girl and finally the house. Just a pity his face is in shadow to the extent it is. You could try some selective dodging to see if you can bring out the detail more on the left and towards the top.

I like this nice composition, Gerrit, in terms of color and arrangement of the subjects... Giving efficient glimpse of this little place, and that expression... Difficult light conditions to manage, but the result is quite reasonable... rgds, Daniel

He probably tells that joke to everyone! ;D You have composed the image well with Mr Winter off-centre to allow space for the additional information the background provides. There is quite a strong yellow cast. I hope you don't mind I tried a Ws

Hi Gerrit,
I like the composition idea but the background is bright and the man quite dark, it would have been a good idea to fire the fil flash.
Have a nice day JY

Hi Gerrit
A superb daily life shot, with good sharpness & saturation. Perhaps I'd add a little magenta or red, to the shadow areas? Good contrast & pov. Tfs!

Good morning Gerrit,
this is a joke and the humour of Mr Winter is very brilliant. But I do not be puzzled a lot because here in Greece exist surnames as Mr February and Mr March.Nice the portrait of Mr Winter with the so characteristic glance.Well done.
Have a nice day,Danos

Hello Gerrit,
I think that this man of a certain sense of humour. It is a portrait very well done and also, beautiful a simple and modest interesting image of framework of life, and which I think do not have to be unpleasant. The portrait seems to spout out image. Good work.

Hallo Gerrit,
So... You found Winter in Jamaica?! :D You you've gotten a good portrait of him! A good snapshot of the daily life of those persons. It doesn't make much sense to pick on technical details like "the backlit doesn' help" or "the sky is too washed out", etc., but I wonder if there isn't a bit too much green.
Regards, José.
