Old Harbour Bay again Photo

Photographers Note

When I took this picture I was looking to the west and the sunlight was filtered by some dark clouds providing a golden glow over the sand and the far away sky while the water had a silverish glittering.
The contast with the ram-shakeled buidlings and the simple fishing barks is enormous.

Het licht hier is werkelijk prachtig! Het komt heel mooi zacht over op het land en het sijpelt ook mooi door de wolken heen. Dit alles zorgt voor een speciale sfeer. Uitstekende compositie ook!

A marvellous tropical beachscape with superb colour & sharpness. I like the shimmering light on the horizon. A superb warm cold colour contrast between the red tinged sand & blue sky & blue-grey sea. Tfs!

Een prachtig gevoel van licht en donker, zon en schaduw hier Gerrit in een zeer eigen colorsetting zeer overtuigend, net alsof we de sfeer hier kunnen voelen.

Hoi Gerrit,

Ik vind dit altijd zeer mooi wanneer men iet meer ziet en te weet komt over dit land, vandaar dat ik uw dagelijks beeld zeer mooi vindt.
Diepte en perspectief are zeer goed, ook het licht is goed, want tegen de zon in maakt men niet de makkelijkste foto, maar alle is hier OK.

The color tones are really nicely captured. Very sharp and strong contrast in this photo, and having a superb breaking light from above.

The earth color is what I like, just as much as the reflective shine off the water edge along the horizon. Nice work.

We don't often see those sunbeams on a predominantly blue sky. Although they are quite subtle I did notice them before reading your note. There is a lovely glitter on the sea too which adds to the success of the image. Well done

Dag, Gerrit. Als ik naar je foto kijk, besef ik dat wij heel klein zijn ten opzichte van de natuur. De mannen op de voorgrond lijken zo klein te zijn vergeleken met de lucht en de zee. De zilveren weerspiegelingen crëeren een mooi effect op het water en het licht in de wolken is heel speciaal.

It's evident that time moves sooo slow here, too bad the human elements are so dark, but understandable under these light conditions, which give thw sweet silvery reflections over the water.

Great capture in this setting, we see a beautiful postcard landscape, with a magnificent light, managed well, and that gives a few beautiful gilded tones in the sand and a few silvered tones in the sea, with the sunbeams that cross the clouds.

I really like the luminosity giving a special atmosphere to the scene, the sun rays going through the sky and the shiny texture of the sea in BG. I can also see, the wind blowing on the palm leaves.

We are used to see heavenly photos as tropical places, but that tropical mood is more realistically presented in your photo.
The light is indeed fantastic, and slightly saturated colors add to the charm. I'd prefer to see more land and less sea, but the boat would go too close to the left.

Very nice place indeed.
The back light is xall done with a covered sky.
Interesting diffusion of lights on the foreground and the sea.
Much better than a traditional picture with the sun in your back.
