Photographer's Note

Taken from the southernmost point in Albania looking towards Corfu Island in Greece. Butrint is famous for it many ruins. First ancient Greek, then Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman. Vivari Channel is at top left and leads to the straits of Corfu. The town was abandoned in the Middle Ages after an earthquake and tsunami flooded the island. The 2 forts including this one were built by the Ottomans.
