The Luenersee Photo

Photographers Note

The Lünersee also named "Pearl of the Rätikon" is situated 1970m over sea level at the upper end of the Brandnertal. It is not a natural lake and you can see the dam on this photo, next to it is the Douglashütte, the arrival station of the cable car from the valley. The place can also be reached after 1 hour of steep ascent from the cable car station parking.

The two main activities around the Lünersee for visitors are fishing and hiking, the Douglashütte is the starting point for numerous hikes, the easiest of which being the circle walk around the lake that requires two hours. The photo has been taken midway near a small farm on the alp that offers delicious fresh milk. And because some of you began to miss her, my assistant is back !

on ne se pas trop quel sentier prendre dans cette trčs belle composition, je prendrais peut-ętre ŕ droite pour ętre prčs des rhodos :)

I love mountain lakes and this one is no exception. Nice emerald colour and good depth with the peaks on the right and on the left balancing the image.

decidément ces nuages sont un plus dans nos montagnes pour l'oeil du photographe. ils rendent la prise plus difficile maiss le resultat en vont largement la peine. Ici les ombres portées des nuages donnent la profondeur ŕ ton image .
sympa ton sentier mais on hésite ŕ contourner ce lac par la droite ou par la gauche
tres sympa la LP.

Je vois ici que ce n'est pas qu'en Suisse oů on trouve de beau paysages alpestres.
C'est trčs trčs beau. J'aime bien ta compo avec les chemins qui partent de 2 côtés pour tirer l'oeil jusqu'ŕ un autre aspect du fond. La nettété est excellente et j'adore la couleur du lac.

Well done panorama, with rich colours and strong usage of the foreground/lakeshore. The whole scenery looks dramatic with those clouds at the back. That's one great photo!

Un joli pano, comme ŕ ton habitude !
Joli endroit et des couleurs bien rendues. J'adore les teintes de la flotte et ce ciel nuageux et bien exposé. Le petit chemin sur la droite et la gauche c'est bien vu et ca encadre joliment ce beau paysage.
Ouais, rien ŕ dire...c'est beau.

salu J-Y! I think that's a good panoramic shot, perfectly exposed and with a good choice of POV; the path on the two sides makes the shot more "open".

A comprehensive view of this mountain lake (one can see at once it is artificial), and the paths are so inviting! Very good optical quality, everything is so sharp. I'm looking forward to buying a 350D.

A splendid alpine view. Wide angle works again well. The true nature of the reservoir is well visible with bare shores. But I miss the foreground as the path is split to two pieces. I guess you could have included it by taking a couple of step back without compromising panorama format.

I like panorama's....when they are taken right of course. And your is, really a good one. I see no stitch lines, colours are crisp and bright, exposure is straight one.

also the large version is of amazing sharpness and technical quality. Together with the very beautiful light it renders very well the mouantain feeling and lets one want to leave immediately the PC and get up some peak ... :-)

Great panorama! One thing that I like it the way the trail appears to be heading off on the left, and also on the right - a little disorienting but interesting. I also like the shadow on the mountain too, which gives this a moody kind of look. Well done!

Beautiful scenic panorama from Vorarlberg, Jean-Yves. Cannot fault anything here - the stitching work is great, the sharpness and colors are excellent, and the scenic value of the landscape leaves nothing to be desired. Very nice one.
The photo of your assistant is a fun add, nice hairdo!

Avec un peu de neige en plus ça pourrait ętre le Lac Blanc! Belle prise et chouette assemblage pour nous montrer cet endroit sympathique. Ca faisait longtemps que tu ne nous avais pas posté une version large.

Superbe panorama. On a qu'une envie; faire le tour du lac en empruntant ce sentier ! J'aime beaucoup ton image qui nous rappelle que nous sommes encore en été et qui nous donne envie d'une randonnée en montagne !

Une belle leçon pour un panoramique réussi, et un grand merci pour tes explications ŕ ce sujet.
Il est solidement entouré de montagne de superbe lac. On voit ŕ gauche, au sommet, comme un petit ruisseau qui pourrait l'alimenter.
J'adore ce genre de paysage oů ne grouillent pas les touristes, c'est chouette de se retrouver ainsi au calme durant du longs moments.
Un ciel superbe et une scčne trčs bien exposée, les couleurs naturelles.
Un grand bonjour de lŕ oů il ne cesse de pleuvoir.

Décidement, tu nous gratifies de splendides paysages de montagne en ce moment. La version large est vraiment terrible avec une défintion au top.
Le soleil qui joue ŕ cache-cache avec les nuages donne vraiment une trčs belle lumičre.

Tabarnac que cest beau! Il sagit vraiment dune panoramique Ťplein la gueuleť qui impose un sérieux moment de contemplation! Le niveau de détail est hallucinant, la lumičre est magnifique et les couleurs sont bien calibrées. Ce que çŕ doit ętre magique de se retrouver seul dans ce paysage majestueux!

Hello JY - wow, the large version is incredible, I amazed at the image quality and sharpness, I can't bebieve it's under 400kb, anyway the scenery is gorgeous of course, and the clouds do a great job of filling the sky. Normally I don't like atrificial lakes, as the changing water level creates that unsightly artificial layer of bare soil along the shore. The alluring colour of the water here compensates for that.

Holy monkey-pop! This is one brilliant view! The best part about it is not only the composition and everything technically related to it, but first and foremost the size that blew away my screen and mind with the impression of this place!
It felt like I was there (well, almost :P)
This is quite a wonderfully neat way to present it, including the path to and from where you are standing. I think it works wonderfully well :) I believe this is abig part of why it works so well in including the person watching. But I think you know that ;D
I sincerely wish I had been there, or that I will go there one of these days. I really really enjoy the sight. It's the kind that puts my eyes and mind (and dare I say soul?) to rest :D
