The shot was taken in Vitosha mountain, at the far end of the picture you can see the peak Cherny Vruh (Black Peak) - 2290 m., the highest peak of Vitosha.
Vitosha Nature Park, announced in 1934, is the first nature reserve not only in Bulgaria, but also in the all Balkan's peninsula. There are two biosphere preserves - Bistrishko Branishte and Torfeno Branishte (the Peat Preserve - over 2000 m. above sea leavel). The peat in the preserve is 60 cm. in thickness and is aged about 1500 years. There are 300 specieses moss and lichens and also very rare flowers...
