Hvar, a photo from Splitsko-Dalmatinska, Coast

Photographer's Note

Hvar town as I arrived today. It's on the western tip of the island of the same name, and very close to the Pakleni Islands which are just offshore. Might do a daytrip there in the morning to Palmizana Bay for 250 kuna including lunch. The bg tower is the former Church of St Mark and the Dominican Monastery.

quelle belle iamge et ocmpo quelle vue sur ce port mervielleux avec ces barques les beaux palmiers et au sommet ce clocher qui ressort fantastique cpatage et vue.

Those towns along the Adriatic coast are so beautiful and have a charming sightseeing around, possible by boats and/or car, offer many fabulous sceneries like the one which you masterfully show here.
Green blue and orange tones mingle in fine harmony.

Hello Chris,
A lovely postcard from this attractive seaside town. The boats lined up along the quayside make an interesting frame contrasting nicely with the background architecture. The church tower positioned just off centre is a very effective focal point and serves to draw the viewer into the scene. Very good technical realisation.

Hello Chris,

Now this is a sight that I've visited and enjoyed very much, indeed several times in the past 23 years apart. It can, however, get hot and muggy, but it is just as beautiful as its coastal cousins on the Dalmatian Coast Split, Dubrovnik and Trogir in Croatia, and Kotor in Montenegro.

Incidentally, I added Collier Bay in northwestern Australia as a site of dramatic tides... in my National Geographic Blog, with an acknowledgment to you. Thank you very much for that information. In writing such detailed notes to accompany some of my photos on Trekearth, I have those blogs in mind, and also a book that I have been working on that integrates the work of Leonardo, Newton, Beethoven and Einstein.

La composition est bien divisée, le ciel, les immeubles avec les palmiers et les bateaux. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails des immeubles, des palmiers et des bateaux. La qualité de la lumičre embellit les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Hello Chris,
I don't remember how much 250 kuna equal in euros or dollars, but the trip would probably be worth it if it includes lunch. Otherwise I could imagine a day just strolling these nice streets looking for interesting photo opportunities. The houses look fine, the atmosphere seems pleasant and the weather gives you perfect colours.

We liked Hvar a lot...especially the view from the fortress. Did you not climb up there?
A relaxing place worth spending a day, I also liked the square with the church and the monastery.
This is a nice picture which sums up Hvar well
