Gardens of Large Courtoiseau

Initially fortified town in XIIème century, Large Courtoiseau found its shape current of manor at the beginning of the XVIIIème century. Thus altered and crossing the generations, after having belonged to the famous miniaturist Jean-Baptist Augustin, the manor sees being born, at the end of the XIXème century, its wintergarden and its greenhouse, created by its owner of the time: Augustin Cornu of the Fountain of Coincy, traveller and naturalist. Having belonged thereafter to the deputy Alfred-Leon Girault-Richard, and more recently to the writer Herve Bazin, Large Courtoiseau accepted the visit of many politicians and famous writers. It is only into 1991 that the restoration began from its gardens. Quietude, softness and murmur of water will thus accompany your steps, in this garden maintained carefully by methods in perfect agreement with nature.
