Photographer's Note

The castle of Haut-Barr, also called "the Eye of Alsace", offers a spectacular sight on the plain d'Alsace and the Vosges. It draws up on three large rocks connected to each other by a footbridge called "Bridge of the Devil" and a network of staircases which will lead you until the heights of the castle. Located at 470 meters d'altitude, it allows, in clear weather, to see the arrow of the cathedral of Strasbourg. Building of origin set up at the 12th century, it remains still a home seigneurial thus qu'une Romance vault devoted to Saint Nicolas. The castle then was the subject of restorations and enlargings at the 16th century of which there remains the walls and the ramparts.

It there at a beautiful restaurant with a panoramic point of view on the plain of Alsace.
