The village.
The lake.

One sunny autumn day without wind on the lake Salagou.

The Salagou lake of 700 hectares, located at 50 kilometers in the west of Montpelier results from the construction of 1964 to 1969 of a dam of 357 m length and 63 m high on the Salagou brook.

The village of Celles was to be submerged according to the preliminary draft, but the height of the dam was re-examined.

The village was expropriated at the time of the setting in water of the dam of Salagou, and is since with the state of ruins except the church and the town hall.

In 1985, one turned there scenes of film Red zone of Robert Enrico, with the actors Sabine Azéma and Richard Anconina.

_ Celles constitutes a place of interest very attended in estival period. It fits in a decoration of reliefs characterized by an intense erosion and one red color: The RUFFES.

_ The RUFFES, called pelites by the geologists are sedimentary rocks very friable whose origin goes up at the end of the primary era from 280 to 225 million years. Their red color is due to the presence of iron oxide. The builders of the past used the ruffes much to build there the capitelles ones, kind of stone huts, low and arched, which were used as shelters to the shepherds and to vine growers, and whom one still meets in the landscape.

_ Vegetable cover is very poor, some trees and shrubs.

CELLES is a French commune, located in the department of the Herault of the Languedoc-Roussillon area, populated of 28 Cellois in 2004, distributed on 7,6 km˛, that is to say 3,7 hab/km˛.

_ The commune is crossed by the Lergue river and the Salagou brook.

Bonsoir Joël,

L'effet miroir sur l'eau lac est un atout ŕ la composition. La prise de vue dirige mon regard vers la rive opposée ce qui donne de la profondeur au paysage. La bonne luminosité valorise les couleurs de l'image. Bonne soirée.

Ce village abandonné au milieu des eaux fait peine ŕ voir mais on a l'impression d'y voir des traces de "civilisation" (voiture...). Une trčs jolie lumičre berce l'ensemble.

Bonjour Joël,

Trčs belle vue large sur ce lac. une ipression de calme, de sérénité se dégage de cette photo et pourtant ce village n'a gučre connu un destin apaisant!Belle profondeur de champ grâce notamment aux rochers ŕ l'avant-plan. Superbe lumičre qui donne ces somptueux reflets.

Un calme profond sur le lac qui donne un effet de miroir magnifique, bon POV , trčs jolie présentation ainsi que deux beaux WS, il est bien dommage que ce village sois a l'abandon, l'endroit est plutôt trčs plaisant....

Merveilleux reflet et iamge, quel cadrage avec ces rochers en premier plan le plan bleu puis les reflet et le ciel superbe ensemble sur ce lac de la cdoucuer, de iamge que j'apprécie tout particuličrement, fantastique.

fotografija se lahko pohvali z odlično ostrino, perfektno refleksijo na vodi, lep POV in DOF.
prijetne so tudi barve celotne kompozicije in posebno izstopa beli vrh skale v FG. zelo dober strel!! TFS!

A very attractive composition of this beautiful lake. The lovely reflections in the still waters are beautifully captured and the image has a wonderful feeling of depth. I like the way the light plays across the foreground rocks and the background buildings. Also, the peaceful and serene atmosphere.

C'est une photo vraiment belle!
La netteté, la gestion de la lumičre, les couleurs naturelles et douces, le pdv choisi, le pp, les contrastes, l'encadrement noir & blanc, le format horizontal et surtout la compo, avec ce reflet symmetrique trčs beau, sont excellents!

The water surface here makes a perfect mirror and the beautiful landscape is indeed duplicated. It seems obvious that autumn is coming closer, even in this southern part of Europe.

un altro dei tuoi bei paesaggi riflessi. L'effetto doppio in cui č diviso il fotogramma č molto gradevole, e il tono mediamente scuro del tutto č controbilanciato dallo spazio occupato dal cielo, che alleggerisce e dŕ respiro all'immagine. Le poche abitazioni che si specchiano sul lago mi piacciono moltissimo. E' un posto dove andrei a vivere volentieri.

Un paysage paisible avec ses eaux calmes, qui reflčtent trčs bien l'environnement.
Trčs bon point de vue, avec une excellente profondeur et des couleurs naturelles.
