Photographer's Note

Some impressive street art taken in the small seaside town of Perissa. The ancient Minoan town of Akrotiri is in the extreme south west of Santorini Island and excavations began in 1967. It was buried in the volcanic ash ejected by the cataclysmic eruption of Santorini Volcano around 1627 BC. The ash affected the weather and crops in China & Egypt and perhaps was the inspiration for Atlantis? So it's not such a surprise to see these Minoan Ladies as depicted here.
