Palazzo Cesi - Acquasparta (TR)
Fifteenth-century residence of one of the illustrious and prestigious Umbrian-Roman families and seat in the early seventeenth century. of the scientific activity of Prince Federico and of the first Accademia dei Lincei. To the Cesi family belonged magistrates, cardinals of the Holy Roman Church, friars, bishops and blessed men. Among their residences the most eminent is that of Acquasparta, the center of a fiefdom that in 1540 Gian Giacomo Cesi and his wife Isabella di Alviano obtained from Pier Luigi Farnese. The beautiful home was built in the place of a fortress destroyed in the first sixteenth century during the wars between Todi, Terni and Spoleto and of which it uses the towers only surviving structures.
