Photographer's Note

This is one of the typical tramways working in Milan.
They are on the streets from the late 1930's and still work perfectly, even if they're being replaced in these years by new ones, more comfortable and modern. They can reach a maximum speed of 42 Km/h. You can also find some of them in San Francisco and Eastern Europe, as a gift from our local government to those cities.
The tram in the image is totally abandoned in the countryside, 40 KM from Milan, and someone uses it to store different kind of things. Infact, as soon as a tram stops working in Milan, people can buy it, as a whole or in spare parts.
Milan living people are very proud of these trams, they are a part of our history and everyone here, in the last 80 years, has grown up with the their typical noise in the streets.
I put an orange frame because orange is the current colour of these trams, while in the past they used to be green.
Hope you like it.
