Photographer's Note

As you may all know already, the little fishing harbour of Marsaxlokk is a MUST see and do when travelling to Malta.

We made sure this was our first adventure on our first full day after arriving. We got up out of bed early, around 5am, and found our way down to this bay. It was initially like a ghost town! Nobody was up yet, no shops were open, only a few lonely joggers and dog walkers.

We took in all the sights, waiting for the sun to creep over the horizon line. It was perfect.

As the morning inched its way closer, more and more locals started to appear. This older gentlemen I captured made for an excellent photo opp.

We found out that the fishermen row out in these little boats to get out to their larger boats which are anchored deeper into the harbour, makes sense I guess.

I have several photos captured here in beautiful golden hour light as well, but I thought I'd start with this charming old chap getting into his boat.

Thanks for looking
