Photographer's Note

My first photo to be published. This photo will be published in Schlumberger's InterChange magazine.

I took this when our vessel was dry docked in Malta. It overlooks the Town of Tarxien . Malta is only 245 sq km, but, will give any photographer the highest density of photo opportunities.

There are 7 islands, with three major islands of Malta (Malta, Gozo, and Comino)have a long and interesting history that dates back to 5000 BC.

-5000 BC First human settlers.

-3600 BC Megalithic temples constructed, oldest
free standing in the world.

-60 AD Shipwreck of St. Paul the Apostle

-800 BC to Present The Islands have been ruled by many people (Phoenician, Greek, Carthaginian, Byzantine, Vandals, Goths, Arab, Norman, Genoese, Swabian, French, Aragonese, Castilian, Knights of St. John, British), I may have missed some, but as you can see the Islands have a colourful history.

-1964 Independent Malta

-1676 School of Anatomy and Surgery founded at the Sacred Infirmary, the Knight's hospital in Valletta.

The history runs deep and every Maltese person that I meet takes great pride of this. It is definitely worth looking into more of the Island history as this note don't even touch the surface.
