Photographer's Note

A view from the walking track leading uphill to the fortress far above the town. I only made it half way up in the fierce summer heat. This is reputedly the southernmost fjord in Europe, a relic from the last Ice Age. There were 2 of these floating cities in port. Fortunately, they both left the following day. They each carry around 5,000 people and that puts pressure on the small old town of just a couple of square km, and this makes it less attractive to visit. Plus a lot of the passengers had their noses in the air. And must drive everywhere rather than walk.
