Photographers Note

Home of one of the leading orchestra's in the world, the concertgebouw is a stately building on the museumplein, a wide square on the south edge of the centre of Amsterdam.
The square is also home of the Rijksmuseum(of Arts), the stedelijk museum of contemparary arts and the Van Gogh Museum.

It looks stunning,a good idea to frame the buildings and the rest with these boles.
The photo has also a nice lightness and contrast.

very interesting framing with both trees. Great, to take a large part of the sky till some branches are integrated. Nice and colourful shot of the ground, even small, but well composed. We have some life and good DOF. It seems to be a very interesting building. Never been up to now in Amsterdam, but if this will be on the list.

I've heard recordings of this famous orchestra, but I've never seen the building they call home. I have to say that it looks different than I imagined, with the huge green field in front of it. I thought it would be crowded on all sides with buildings, but instead they have this grand setting. Thanks for sharing!

Dag, Gerrit. Het Concertgebouw wordt hier goed in beel gebracht dankzij de twee bomen op de voorgrond die het uitstekend omlijsten. Ze geven ook diepte aan het beeld. De mensen die een beetje overal op het gras verspreid zijn, geven ons een idee van de afmetingen van het gebouw.

Great view and good idea to use the trees as a frame.The image has a great depth,caused by the horizontal shadows.

Hi Gerrit,
Excellent setting, I like the idea of the silhouettes of the trees to both sides that they form a natural and dark frame to the beautiful architecture surrounded with green gardens, which is the real protagonist of your photo.
The lighting is managed well, you obtain a good balance between the illuminated zones and the zones in shade.
The blue and clear sky is beautiful.

Un grand espace vert devant cette majestueuse construction abritant un temple de la musique.
J'aime l'originalité du cadrage. L'ensemble ressort magnifiquement avec ce trčs beau ciel bleu.

It's very nice to have a wide angle on this famous building , and to see how it is embedded into the colorful and pleasant neighborhood of the square.

Ik heb het nog even magekeken, maar deze prachtige foto is genomen op een dag dat ik geen matinee op de vrije zaterdag had. Anders had je me misschien wel per ongeluk vastgelegd. (en foto's met andere TE leden schijnt niet te mogen)

tu as donné de la pronfondeur ŕ cette scčne de détente toute simple, mais montrant aussi des détails d'architecture ancienne.
Une photo qui a pas mal de qualités techniques, telles la netteté, l'exposition et aussi ce POV.
