In Kraków
Welcome in Kraków. The city which has been selected by Orbitz to be one of the seven recommended to visit cities in the world.
One of the reasons most probably would be a unique charm that prevails in that place. Take this Jewish restaurant, and these two dignified ladies who popped down for a light lunch and chat...
----------
I thought I would post something "lighter" during the Christmas period.

Nice sneaky candid capture (looks like some fixture as tripod), did they hear the miror click.
Good choice of speed, with just their hands moving.

So nice scene, like it a lot; a wonderful light, some nostalgy...and a reference to dramatic history...nice
Have a good day

Hi Jerzy
The light is wonderfull here. This is a very daily life shot. The nostalgy of the old time is also in this composition.
Congratulations

Hi J.
I agree with Orbitz about this should be one of the seven recommended to visit cities in the world. I was there and it was charmful.
Picture like this one, in which the times seems hasn't passed, makes me want to come back....

Christmas is for light Jerzy?! Well, I suppose so;) But you are right, Krakow is a great place, for photographers for sure. Kazimierz is maybe the most interesting, especially for some darl b/w work, but you said light. Is this in Kazimierz? The photo is pretty good. Certainly a nice frame, and I suppose we are in the same mood of "not much happening" today.

Hi Jerzy
Good dual portrait with wonderful symmetry between the 2 women & excellent sharpness & graphism. I'm off to Thailand next Thursday, so I hope to upload some new shots of tropical beaches in the new year. Merry Xmas!

Fajnie uchwycony moment :-) Doskonaly jakosciowo - szczegolnie tekstura sciany i kwiatki na stole. W warsztacie wycialem nieotrzebny, moim zdaniem spod kadru.
Pozdrawiam,

yeh, something a little bit lighter now we are nearer the festive period. A good bit of daily life, warming the soul.
Have a good Xmas Jerzy and a Happy New Year.

Pozdrawiam i życzę wesołych świąt Bożego Narodzenia.

Witaj Jerzy
Piękna opowieść, jak o wizycie u cioci lub spotanie przyjaciółek, ale to wszystko niestety nie z naszych czasów, z czasów które już się nie wrócą - a trochę żal....
Piękne to - bardzo dziękuję.
Pozdrawiam
Marek

Witaj Jerzy.
That's right. Simply daily life.
A quotidiane scene where we can see how two ladies are making some very common.
Regards.

excellent quality and composition.
Merry Xmas and a wonderful new year to your family and you.

Nothing short of Bucki style.
Yes, you were close enough (as R.Capa used to say), to produce yet another one, incredibly touchy, close encounter of the third kind, like nobody else on the pages of TE.
Do I smell their food?
But of course, I do...As always!
Immaculate technique is there, with the solid dose of warmth and holiday feelings.
Bless you, man.

PS: What a pleasure is to find some imperfections in your picture...
That table top...?
Hooray! Finally.
Got'chya !!!
Uff ...Somehow, I feel better about myself.(:-)))

This is excellent Jerzy, a great shot of these ladies enjoying their lunch.
You controlled the difficult lighting very well, and the whole image has a pleasing balance to it (if we ignore the blurred white tabletop at the bottom of the frame). As others have already said, it would have been better to exclude it, and it beats me why you didn't crop to remove it.
Still, I don't think it detracts too much from this charming little scene.
Good work.
Cheers,
Ben

Nice "pro" shot, and sneaky too if my own experiences count for anything, feels like you laid the camera down on the table and "casually" aimes the business end at these acharming ladies. Now I'm waiting, J, no, PARYING for some twit to say you've "crossed the line" here, then you and I can be truly brothers, eh?

I like this one J - this intimate moment between these two women and their food - such lovely light and detail ...I probably would have chosen to crop the table but it doesn't offend my eye that you left it there......best wishes Kev

Hi Jerzy,
In another life you would be a famous author of fiction, because your photos reveal you to be a master story teller. You take what is on the surface a mundane scene and find a human story that usually involves some history, culture, or sociological overtone or observation. Here there is indeed a special charm, the ladies are dignified, the alcove cozy. The candelabra in the window however seems special, unique, perhaps a feature of a Jewish restaurant... Have a happy and tranquil holiday season, Jerzy.

Didn't I told you to keep the camera on the bag while having a relaxed meal? OK! Thank God you skipped my advice this time. The last one was truly Polish but this one is incredibly universal. I love it! What a moment. I guess this one was a bit of a steal. You didn't want to interrupt their meal ;) Great shot indeed my friend. Oof foreground table included... Wishing you an Holy Christmas, l.

Hello Jerzy,
I really like this one and I am also amazed at the degree of sharpness you present us at 1/4th of a second. Did you use a tripod ? I bet you did. But there also other assets such as the light, the atmosphere of the picture and the fact that we can see what's going on although there's a strong light coming in from the window.
Merr Christmas - Friendly yours - Izzet

Pozdrawiam T.

co do tego zdjęcia będę chyba jedyna... przepraszam, ale nie podoba mi się. za dużo rzeczyw kadrze, starsze Panie siedzą i jedzą, po co uprzykrzać im życie;)?
