Photographer's Note

Pinhao is considered to be the geographical center of the Douro demarcated wine region, and it is here that many of the Port wines estates are to be found. Worthy of particular attention there is the railway station, built at the end of the nineteenth century, the inside of which is entirely lined with panels of azulejos dating from 1937.
Considered to be one of the most emblematic train stations in Portugal, the outer walls are decorated with twenty four blue glazed mosaics depicting typical scenes of the Douro Valley related to port wine production.
Sorry, no passengers waiting on the premises!
