Photographer's Note

Continuation on my theme about the TE members I admire. To know what this is all about please read the introductory notes on the first post of the series.

Jerzy’s photography is all about interaction. Look at his today’s post and you will understand why. He is also one of the best photographers known to me and his sensibility shines across every photo he has the grace to share with us. He is a master showing us the raw character of everyday life and the situations he portrays are always close to everyone’s heart and soul. He has an intense ability to show humanity in its simplest form and the spiritual degree he can draw from it is always in a higher level.

He is also one of the hardest guys to convince. I mean, he is always very perfectionist with his own work and he transports that when critiquing others. He is always trying to improve, to post a better work. It’s guaranteed that you will get an honest critique from him and truth is a value he likes to pursue. He doesn’t like to 'steal' pictures from people too. He likes to interact with them, to let his subjects know that his pointing his Nikon onto them.

The picture I am offering to J. here was taken after a long conversation with tree inhabitants of the Historic Village Idanha-a-Velha. We talked about how is living in this cozy place where history is part of every stone. These conversations always tell you more than any guide or any book about the place. The humanity that flows from the warm hearts of these people is priceless and surpasses any photo we may present here. Since Jerzy’s is hard to convince, I am presenting here a full package: one main post and two other views in the workshop.

So thanks Jerzy for showing me the way to become a better photographer, to constantly look for evolution even if that means I have to walk a harder path. Your valuable and true critiques are always among the dearest I can find in this wonderful pot. Do never cease to point the flaws in my work. Once in a while, you are authorized to praise me also. ;)
