Photographer's Note

Synagogue in Liptovsky Mikulas is one of the largest in the Slovak Republic. It was built between 1842 - 1846 as a classicistic building. It gained its current appearance after reconstruction in 1906.

After World War II the synagogue was used as a storehouse for several years and the interior was extensively damaged. It is now partly repaired and open to the public in the summer and is used as a space for cultural events.
