Hello friends and colleagues, today I present this beautiful detail of modernist building of the Galician town of Ribadeo, called the Dark Tower. I hope you like it, then some letters on the tower and villa.

Tower of Moreno (in Galician Torre dos Moreno) is a typical Indian house -construciones in areas of emigrants to America-located the town of Ribadeo (Lugo, Spain), in the square of Spain and the street Ibanez . It was built by Pedro Juan Moreno and Ulloa in 1915 and designed by architect Julian Garcia Nunez and engineer Angel Ardex. With some eclectic style can be considered a modernist building with a mixed structure of concrete and iron.

This building is considered since 1997 as a Cultural Interest in the catalog of National monuments of Spain.

Ribadeo is a Spanish town with 10,010 inhabitants, according to INE (2014) and a villa (6,792 inhabitants, INE 2014) located in the northeast of Galicia, in the province of Lugo, on the border with the Principality of Asturias. It belongs to Region of Mariña Oriental, which is the capital.

The town was formed from a primitive core Porcillán docks and Cabanela, on the bank of the river, later they grow up. Had a wall, more tax than defensive character, still some remains are preserved. Next to Viveiro and Mondoñedo, he was one of the three medieval urban phenomena of the former province of Mondonedo, receiving and hands of Fernando III Charter founding Puebla attributed, among other privileges, the to hold a weekly market, which is still still performed. He went from property of the Crown to French knight owned by Pierre de Villeines under Enrique de Trastámara generous payment for their services, and hence by different sequences County Ribadeo definitely ended up in the House of Alba. He agreed his heyday as Villa with its port, being head of trade of Biscay to the Baltic countries through the port of Riga in particular, where brandy exclusivity was imported, and for that reason ended up being known as kumel of Ribadeo, until its decline due to competition from other ports like Gijon mid-nineteenth century.

The shield of the town, of medieval origin, forming a sea of waves which are a gold key at an angle and a silver star. The key symbolizes the condition of entry to Galicia, the star and its northern situation. Until the late seventeenth century the shield lacked star and the key was in an upright position. This can be seen in the chapel of the Virxe do road in stone of 1699, time when he was already old.

Stresses in the village the "Tower Moreno". This is the house of the Moreno brothers, built in 1905. In eclectic style, ornamentation reminiscent modernism in its neoclassical facade and in the back. Built with mixed structure that combines concrete and steel create a unique construction. It also has several chapels, a parish church Advocada Santa Maria do Campo, vestige of the old Franciscan convent disappeared, and some houses emblazoned in the old part.

In the western half of the Cantabrian coast it has several beaches, small cliffs, among which is the beach of Catedrais, (originally called Augas Santas), instead of a large tourist and owes its current name to the sculpted forms by marine erosion on the cliff.
