Photographer's Note

This is the 8th in a series of images taken in the Alhambra in Granada Spain.
This image hopefully depicts details of how the Palace has been 'Knocked about a bit' over the centuries (please read the relevant sites listed below for a history).
I take it that the partial complex patterns displayed on the arches are the original carvings while the smooth parts are restoration 'patching'.
This image is a small crop from a larger image in order to focus in on this fact (perhaps at the expense of a loss in overall quality).
