Photographer's Note

It was just a walk around - what can you expect of a trip with two small children, after all? I managed to catch some fine places I would like to come back to when we get back to Tenerife some time in the future (having been there 2 times we still feel there's more to explore on the island; at the same time on Tenerife we tend to feel like home).

Garachico is a small sleepy town, once a lively port which in the 17th century was ridden over by lava from El Teide. Reportedly no one was hurt. People fleed the disaster but there was so much lava in the slide the port became unusable, changing the lives of the locals forever even though they managed to rebuild their houses.

I used Sigma 10-20 mm and have played with Photoshop's Lens Correction functions to compensate for perspective and barrel distortion. It is still visible but it's workable.
