The Château de Tourbillon
On the opposite hill from the Valčre castle (see yesterdays photo) dates from 1294, but was ruined by fire in 1788 and today, aside from the external walls, little is left. These days, its open for scramblings and yields excellent views along the valley and over the town (mid-March to mid-Nov TuesSun 10am6pm; free).

Hello Toni,

What an astonishingly impregnable and imposing appearance your photograph presents of Château de Tourbillon! I had never heard of it, but I would love to see it with my own eyes. With the light illuminating it directly, while the distant background dissolves into blur, it becomes such a prominent focal point.

nice the view of the Château de Tourbillon,that is build on the top of the rock.Excellent
position that can see the movement of everyone can approach it.Excellent the management of the lighting as the colors too.It looks like an aerie.Well done.

Superbe endroit. Cet éperon rocheux qui ressort trčs bien de la grisaille présente une trčs belle silhouette du château.

Hello Toni,

Une trčs belle sensation de profondeur ici. Les montagnes sombres en arričre plan fournissent un trčs bon moyen de créer du contraste dans cette image.
Les constructeurs étaient tout de męme trčs persévérant pour réussir ŕ ériger une forteresse pareille lŕ haut !!

tu trouves des trucs sympa sur ton disque dur ! si le point de vue reste assez classique, la lumičre est tout ŕ fait valorisante pour ces vieilles pierres qui surplombent la ville de Sion

Toni,
Your composition is great with the castle placed off center allowing us to see the mountains to the side. The lighting is fantastic spotlighting the castle while the background is in blue haze. The partly cloudy sky provides a fine backdrop for the scene.

Hello Toni,
Le soleil qui pointe son nez sur le chateau, c'est top.
Par contre, l'arriere plan me semble bien sombre et déprimant!

Wow, spectacular setting! The castle is perched on this rocky outcrop, and you shot makes it look very remote and inaccessable. The long lens and the distance really enhances the effect - well done!

C'est un chouette complément ŕ l'image du Valčre. Le château est superbien placé et joliment éclairé. Cela semble presque en 3D avec le fond si contrastant.
