Photographer's Note

Hello,

The chimney on a stone slate roof is typical of many grain stores and chalets in Valais. The image was captured in the village of Törbel in Upper Valais.

At the top of the chimney sits a slab that sits on top through four small supports, of stone too. The slab is protected by two pieces of slate.

The roof is made of slate, a stone taken from quarries in the region. The unparalleled durability of this material helps protect from the elements for generations.

Have a nice day,
Adriano
