Photographer's Note

Good Morning Everyone,

Please click here to see the larger Beta version.

When the group (Claude, Len, Mike, Mariusz and Will), left Salford Quays, we caught the tram into Manchester.

Our route to the centre lead us along the banks of the Bridgewater Canal where my photograph shows the surprising colours that were picked up by the rippling water.

I had never been in this area before and found it so interesting. Along the nearside was the building once reknown as the Hacienda Club. (The Haçienda was a nightclub and music venue in Manchester, England, which became famous in the Madchester years of the late 1980s and early 1990s. The Haçienda opened in 1982, and despite considerable and persistent financial troubles survived until 1997 – the club was mainly supported by record sales from 'New Order'. The Haçienda is associated with the rise of acid house and rave music.)

The canalside buildings looked old but had a very definite working class character.

Thank you for sharing a bit of Manchester.
Have a good day, Bev :-)
