Photographer's Note

This was one of a few photos I took last weekend while on a trip to Brimham Rocks and How Stean Gorge. It was taken not long after "Menwith Hill Listening Post" that I showed a few days ago (see Menwith Hill Listening Post photo for more detailed Brimham Rocks description).

I was dubious whether to show this one or not, as although I like the vivid greens in the photo, I think there being a lot of foliage makes it look a bit cluttered. I deliberately got the rock in to add foreground interest, but think I may have overdone it a little. :-)

This was a strange wood, it was like stepping back in time. Everything had vivid colours, light was teaming through the trees, and there were rabbits everywhere. It was like a prehistoric land, you could just imagine cavemen hunting here to try and capture animals for their dinner. It was quite a way from the main area of Brimham Rocks, so didn't seem to get many people through it.
