Photographer's Note

Grytvyken was a whaling station up until the 1960s. It now houses a museum, post office and administrative buildings. The decaying evidence of its days as a whaling station are still as they were left when the whalers dispersed. The Petrel rusts slowly in the low temperatures this close to Antarctica.
