Photographer's Note

Looking through my old slides to scan, I can't always find what I'm looking for (there's a title there somewhere), but last night a found a really old set. I remember replacing the camera about 30 years ago, but I can only remember that it was a very old Praktika SLR, not the model. It didn't even have a light meter, I had to carry around a seperate one. Not a very adventurous compo this (as an excuse, I was only 15 at the time), but I still quite like it, mainly for the lighting.

This was taken at the then eastern terminus of the Ffestiniog Railway in North Wales, before completion of the spiral to gain height above the top lake of a hydro storage scheme that had been built across the old route.

The background and foreground seem a little out of focus, but the loco looks sharp to me. Probably very shallow DoF due to the very slow film speed.
I wonder what the oldest posting on TE is, I see the dates to choose from go back to 1960.
